Azibo
The Azibo Reservoir is an area of great importance covering more than 4,000 hectares, created in 1999. Located just over 58km from the village of Varge, this area is known for its rich landscape and biodiversity. As well as being home to vegetation of national importance and endangered species, the Azibo reservoir promotes sustainable development, allowing leisure activities, non-motorized water sports, hiking and cycling trails, and provides a great getaway on hot summer days in Trás-os-Montes. It's a place where visitors can enjoy various outdoor activities in harmony with environmental preservation, from walks on the beach to picnics in rest areas, bird watching and visits to museums in the surrounding villages.
