Vinhais

Vinhais, the Capital of Smoking, which is just over 55 km from the village of Varge, is famous for its annual Smoking Fair in February. However, this town in Trás-os-Montes, located on the Raia between Portugal and Spain, offers much more than its reputation in the world of Bísaro pork smoking. As well as delicious cuisine, Vinhais has a rich historical heritage and maintains unique traditions, such as the Vinhais Devils, who appear on Ash Wednesday eve to entertain the population.
